Suite 8 // Lura Shopteau // Psychotherapy, Yoga Therapy & Mindfulness
Lura Shopteau M.A., LPC, E-RYT-500, IAYT Each of us will face suffering and difficulties at different times in our life and often we are more capable than we think we are. Having the ability to talk with someone at these times can be helpful and may offer us unexpected out comes. Many people decide to begin therapy because they want to get to know themselves better, to grow personally or spiritually, or because they want to live a more full and authentic life. All of these reasons are good ones for seeking out the services of a trained professional. By taking an hour a week or more out of our busy lives to slow down and explore our inner thoughts and feelings, we are better able to make decisions that are in-keeping with our true wants and desires. I use a variety of psychological tools/techniques including yoga therapy, mindfulness based stress reduction and somatic therapies.
I also offer individualized Integrative Medical Care Planning and Management with the goal of helping you achieve more successful healing and health outcomes when dealing with a major illness. It emphasizes the therapeutic collaboration that takes place between the patient and practitioner in the healing process and makes use of all appropriate evidence-based therapies, both conventional and alternative that may be appropriate for your condition.
